Dumpster Rental in Miami: How It Works and What to Expect

    Published 2026-08-17

How dumpster rental works in Miami-Dade: 20 and 30-yard sizes, where to place it, permits, what you can toss, and how to get a quote. Call today.

    The process, step by step

    • Call or text (305) 986-0692 and tell us what you're clearing: a remodel, a roof, a move, a yard. We quote based on the actual job, not a price sheet.
    • We pick the size together, 20 or 30 yards, based on volume and how heavy the material is.
    • We schedule delivery. We show up with the roll-off truck, drop the container exactly where you want it, and leave. You don't need to be home if the spot is clear.
    • You fill it on your own schedule during the rental period (standard 7 days, extensions available).
    • When you're done, call and we pick it up. If your project is bigger and still generating debris, we swap the container same-day so the job never stops.

    The sizes we offer

    • 20-yard: roughly 22 ft long, 8 ft wide, 4.5 ft tall. Holds about 6 pickup truck loads. Good for a kitchen remodel, a single-layer roof tear-off, or a combined garage and yard cleanout.
    • 30-yard: same length and width, 6 ft tall. Holds about 9 pickup truck loads. Good for a whole-house cleanout, a large renovation, or a landscaping job with dirt and brush.
    • We don't carry 10 or 40-yard containers. For small jobs (under about 4 pickup truck loads), junk removal is almost always cheaper than renting a container. For projects that outgrow 30 yards, we schedule same-day swap-outs instead of chasing a size that doesn't exist in Miami.

Where it can go (and when you need a permit)

If the dumpster sits on your own driveway or property, no permit is needed. If it has to go in the street or on the swale (the grass strip between the sidewalk and the curb), Miami-Dade requires a right-of-way permit, and the City of Miami has its own process on top of the county's. We handle the paperwork, but plan on 1 to 3 extra business days. The county also bans placing a container within 10 feet of a fire hydrant or blocking a sidewalk. If you live in an HOA community, in Kendall, Pembroke Pines, or Doral, check the association's rules before booking: some require prior approval, and others limit how many days a dumpster can sit in the driveway.

What you can put in it (and what weighs more than it looks)

    • You can mix most materials: furniture, wood, drywall, roofing tile, metal, and general junk all go in together without a problem.
    • Concrete, dirt, and clay or concrete roofing tile weigh far more than everything else and get billed differently, because Miami-Dade disposal facilities charge by the ton, not by how full the container looks.
    • We don't accept liquid paint, pool chemicals, asbestos, or medical waste. If you have any of that, ask us. We'll point you to the right place.
    • If your project is mostly concrete or dirt, say so when you call for a quote. That way we recommend the right container from the start instead of surprising you later.

    Pricing and delivery timing

We don't publish a price chart because every job is different: size, material, and location all change the cost. Call, describe the project, and we'll give you a real quote over the phone or by text, usually the same day. Most deliveries are scheduled next-day, and often same-day if the container you need is available. We work 6 AM to 9 PM, seven days a week, across Miami-Dade and Broward. Hablamos español.

    FAQ

Do I need to be home for delivery or pickup?

No. As long as the spot where the container goes is clear, no cars, hoses, or anything else in the way, we can deliver and pick up without you there. Just tell us exactly where you want it placed.

How long can I keep the dumpster?

Standard rental is 7 days. If you need more time, call and we'll extend it, usually in 7-day blocks. If you finish early, we'll pick it up at no extra charge as soon as you let us know.

What happens if I overfill the container?

Material can't extend above the rim. It's a safety and DOT rule: the truck can't legally haul an overloaded container on public roads. If it's over the rim when we arrive, we'll need to remove the excess or bring a second container.

Do you offer 10 or 40-yard dumpsters?

No. Our fleet is 20 and 30-yard only. For small jobs, junk removal is the more affordable option. For projects that outgrow 30 yards, we schedule same-day swap-outs instead of a 40-yard size that almost no Miami driveway can actually take.
